Tim Bell to test for Creation Cope Racing

P1 Groupe driver Tim Bell has earned the chance to test with Creation Cope Racing, a NASCAR Team that field’s cars in NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Series, Nationwide Series, Camping World Truck Series and K&N Pro Series. The team was formed by former Daytona 500 Winner Derrike Cope and Michael Jankowski of Creation Autosportif.

Conversations following the opening weekend of the 2012 GRAND-AM Road Racing season at Daytona International Speedway granted Bell, who was tagged to drive the #6 Mitchum Motorsports Camaro GS.R in the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series for 2012, the chance to sit behind the wheel of Creation Cope’s K&N Pro Series Dodge Charger on both Tuesday February, 14th and Wednesday, February 15th. Creation Cope’s Marketing Director, Andy Woolgar was one of the men instrumental in getting Bell to Hickory Motor Speedway in Newton, North Carolina this coming week, and his comments regarding the event solidify the team’s excitement to have Bell in their pit.

“It is an absolute pleasure to have driver Tim Bell here with us this week." stated Woolgar.
“Having the opportunity to work with a driver of his caliber is very exciting and both Derrike Cope and I look forward to meeting and working with Tim this week. It will be a learning experience for him considering he hasn’t driven a NASCAR stock car before but there will be some familiarity thanks in large part to the weight and size of the Camaro he drives in the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series. I know he will be able to adjust quickly, become quite comfortable in the car, and be able to provide solid feedback."

Having the opportunity to show his driving skills in a NASCAR Stock Car is something Bell finds exciting and something that will build his already impressive driving resume. “I’m really excited for this week’s test with Creation Cope Racing." explained Bell “It’s a great opportunity to try my hand in a different kind of high-speed racing. I’m excited to see what it’s like to be inches from the wall at 140mph. Hopefully the weather does hold off this week, and I am looking forward to seeing where this opportunity leads. Thanks again to my management team in P1 Groupe for setting this up and giving me a once in a lifetime opportunity."
