Hulman & Company Expands Board
John F. Ackerman, Jeffrey G. Belskus, Mark D. Miles and James T. Morris have accepted their respective appointments, expanding the board from eight to 11 members. Hulman & Company appointed three new directors Feb. 17, 2011 to expand its board from five to eight members, but a board vacancy was created with the death of Jerry Throgmartin on Jan. 22, 2012.
“Our experience in the last year with an expanded board has brought about significant new opportunity and has been beneficial in taking advantage of growth opportunities for our family of companies," Hulman & Company Chairman of the Board Mari Hulman George said. “We are pleased to welcome John, Jeff, Mark and Jim to the board. We look forward to their contributions as they use their extensive experience in business, sports and civic activities to help guide and ensure the success of Hulman & Company."
Other than Belskus who remains as president and CEO, the new board members will have no day-to-day management duties with Hulman & Company, and there is no change in the current management structure of the company. The board members will be assigned to advisory committees tasked with overseeing various aspects of the business to assist in establishing best practices, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, approving policies and strategies, and providing general oversight.
Current composition of the Hulman & Company board is Mari Hulman George, Nancy L. George, M. Josephine George, Katherine M. George-Conforti, Anton H. George, Andre B. Lacy, Michael L. Smith, Ackerman, Belskus, Miles and Morris.
Hulman & Company’s holdings include Clabber Girl Corporation, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation and its affiliated companies including the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, LLC, IndyCar, IMS Productions and IndyCar Entertainment. NSSN
