Jack Baldwin, Hot Wheels team up to tackle Pirelli World Challenge

Jack Baldwin will pilot a Team Hot Wheels Pirelli Cayman Interseries-based Porsche Cayman S in the Pirelli World Challenge.

Jack Baldwin will have some Hot Wheels in his corner as he prepares for a title run in the 2012 Pirelli World Challenge sports-car road-racing series.

Baldwin and Hot Wheels sponsorship captured the 1992 SCCA-Pro Trans-Am Championship, and the pairing return 20 years later in search of more wins in a premier SCCA-Pro division.

Baldwin will pilot a Team Hot Wheels Pirelli Cayman Interseries-based Porsche Cayman S modified to compete in the GTS class. The Cayman S was built and will be maintained by PNR, the racing division of leading Chicago-area Porsche dealer Napleton Porsche of Westmont, Ill., and will be entered by GTSport Racing.

“The original Hot Wheels program was a winner on and off the track," said Baldwin, an American road-racing legend who is also a two-time IMSA Camel GTU champion. “We won races and the 1992 championship, while the actual Hot Wheels models of our Camaros turned out to be some of the best-selling Hot Wheels of all-time. We are shooting for nothing short of similar success this time around in the Pirelli World Challenge."

The new Team Hot Wheels Porsche Cayman S features the iconic Hot Wheels logo. The Cayman S itself is based on the popular Interseries cars, with the necessary competition and performance upgrades for the step up to Pirelli World Challenge competition.

The season opens with a double-header on the streets of St. Petersburg, March 23-25.
