KVRT statement regarding Kanaan DNF in St. Petersburg

After an exhaustive investigation into the loss of power suffered by the No. 11 GEICO | MOUSER ELECTRONICS – KV Racing Technology Chevrolet/Firestone entry driven by Tony Kanaan at the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on Sunday, March 25, the team has diagnosed the problem as battery related.
“When the car arrived back at the shop in Indianapolis, we immediately conducted a thorough investigation into the cause of the loss of power suffered by the No. 11 GEICO | MOUSER ELECTRONICS – KV Racing Technology Chevrolet/Firestone machine on lap 21 of the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. After reviewing the results of that investigation we have determined that the power loss was a result of a battery related issue and have taken the necessary steps to rectify the problem," said KV Racing Technology General Manager Mark Johnson.
KVRT will be back on track this weekend for the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama, March 30 – April 1, at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama. The race will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network beginning at 2:00 p.m. (ET).
