ALMS Announces Jamie Kimbrough as Director of Public Relations

The American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patr¢n announced today that Jamie Kimbrough joined its staff as Director of Public Relations. The Stone Mountain, Ga., resident joins the Panoz Motor Sports Group having held senior PR and sports information positions with the American Cancer Society, Fox Sports Net South and Louisiana State University (LSU). As Director of PR with the Braselton, Ga.-based organization, Kimbrough is responsible for managing the public relations, promotions, media relations and digital media staff.

While at LSU, Kimbrough managed relationships with national television partners CBS Sports, ABC Sports, ESPN and TBS. He oversaw public relations in support of LSU’s nationally ranked football program including media interview coordination for players, coaches and administrators. Kimbrough also led successful media campaigns for football players’ All-America and All-Southeastern Conference honors as well as post-graduate scholarship citations.

At the National Cancer Society, Kimbrough was responsible for many successful PR efforts including the Coaches vs. Cancer college basketball initiative, a fundraising and awareness collaboration with the National Association of Basketball Coaches, as well as for Relay For Life – one of the world's largest grassroots fundraising initiatives. In addition, he was instrumental in leading media relations outreach for DetermiNation –the Cancer Society's nationwide marathon and athletic endurance events fundraising venture.

Kimbrough’s work in the new role begins immediately as the 14th season of ALMS competition heads to Long Beach, Calif., for the Tequila Patr¢n American Le Mans Series at Long Beach on April 14. ESPN2 airs the race live from the world famous Long Beach street circuit just outside Los Angeles starting at 7:30 p.m. ET. The race is carried simultaneously on ESPN3.
