SPEED2, the authenticated broadband network complementing the SPEED linear network, is now available to DIRECTV and Verizon FiOS TV customers. The move expands overall distribution to more than 35 million customers through multiple service providers. Differentiating itself from other broadband offerings, SPEED2 does not require a subscription to any specific Internet service.

Created to deliver an expanded variety of racing, featuring popular international events that enhance the dynamic programming SPEED already delivers, SPEED2 — launched in the summer of 2010 — now is available through DIRECTV, Verizon FiOS TV, DISH Network, Time Warner Cable, Cablevision and Bright House Networks.

“Our partnership with DIRECTV and Verizon FiOS TV allows SPEED2 to reach another important milestone on its drive to deliver more world-class racing to motor sports fans," said Mike Biard, Executive Vice President, Distribution, Fox Networks. “As online video and television continue to converge, this ground-breaking broadband network enhances the value of traditional video packages that already include SPEED."

SPEED2 delivers original content not seen on the linear network. Currently featuring race coverage from more than 30 different international motor sports series, including a full schedule of first-run racing in May, SPEED2 offers live or same-day coverage of the World Rally Championship Series, MotoGP qualifying, AMA Pro Supersport, the Blancpain Endurance Series, the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, German Touring Car (DTM), FIA GT1 World Championship, FIA GT3 European Championship and the GP3 Series, as well as popular motor sports magazine shows Motorsport Mundial and Inside Grand Prix.

In addition to motor sports content, SPEED2 also carries an extensive automotive and motorcycle enthusiast programming library from SPEED’s 15 years on the air, including the popular series American Muscle Car, Behind the Headlights, Back in the Day and Victory by Design.
