Disappointed Andretti blames Servia
Marco Andretti turned the fastest lap of the race. He was the only driver able to break the draft and pull away. He had the car to win, but the Andretti curse at Indy continued |
Like Will Power, Marco Andretti felt there was nothing he could do to avoid his crash into the Turn 1 wall on Lap 188.
"(Oriol) Servia decided to run two-wide at Indianapolis for two consecutive laps and makes me turn in from the white line," Andretti told reporters. "I had no hope of making that corner because not only am I turning from the white line, he just crossed my bow, so I was completely out of it. Nothing I can do. I'm disappointed. It definitely rang my bell."
Andretti, who finished 24th, said he felt he was still in contention to win when the crash happened. Andretti, who led 59 laps, was running eighth after 187 laps.
