Detroit Belle Grand Prix red-flagged to repair track

The IndyCar race has been red flagged at the halfway point due to multiple issues with the track falling apart. The pavement has large sections of rubber "expansion strip" sealer, and the weekend of racing — including that with larger, heavier sports cars — has caused those rubber strips to come up. The situation caused a crash by James Hinchcliffe shortly before halfway. It is possible for the race to be called at the halfway point.
