UPDATE ABC’s live telecast of the IZOD IndyCar Series race at Detroit’s Belle Isle circuit on Sunday, June 3, earned a final 0.6 rating, averaging 843,189 viewers, according to the Nielsen Company. The race was stopped for track repair and resumed after a delay of approximately two hours. Coverage of the final laps aired on ESPNEWS and earned a 0.2 household coverage rating (0.1 U.S. rating), averaging 157,137 viewers. The ABC rating/viewership average is for the 3:30-6 p.m. ET timeslot. The ESPNEWS rating/viewership average is for 6-7:30 p.m. ET.

06/04/12 The overnight TV rating of the Izod IndyCar Series Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix on ABC Sunday was 0.7, but that number is probably low because the race was red flagged due to the track falling apart and that caused fans to click to another channel.
