Penske gives Michael Andretti advice on NASCAR
Roger Penske |
Penske had some advice for Michael Andretti as the former CART champion climbs closer to announcing a NASCAR program with Dodge.
Penske told him it takes significantly more — financially and otherwise — to make the jump from IndyCar.
"It's a heck of a lot different deal that we have here," Penske said.
Penske said Andretti's growth will depend largely on connections made in NASCAR. Penske thinks Andretti should partner with an established stock car entity.
"If he goes in cold, it's a tough job, but if he's got cars and an experienced team he can partner with, that would help," he said. Indy Star
