Edmonton: Pagenaud leads Honda 1-8 sweep in opening practice
Honda powered cars dominated opening practice for the Edmonton IZOD IndyCar race Friday morning with rookie sensation Simon Pagenaud leading the practice times by 4/10ths of a second.
Mike Conway was 2nd in the AJ Foyt machine followed by Dale Coyne's Justin Wilson.
Graham Rahal and Josef Newgarden rounded out the top-5.
Points leader Ryan Hunter-Reay was penalized during the final minutes of opening practice for unsportsmanlike conduct with the 19 car of James Jakes. RHR was held on pit road until the end of the practice session.
