Allmendinger suspended indefinitely
Charlotte, NC (July 25, 2012) “While we await further information from testing to determine the cause, we have notified NASCAR that AJ will participate in the Road to Recovery Program starting immediately. As we have stated earlier, we respect NASCAR's drug testing policies. They are first and foremost in place to protect drivers and AJ being among those. We fully support the program, and as more details become available, we will share them. We would like to personally thank Mr. Helton and John Bobo for helping worked through this in an expeditious manner."

| AJ Allmendinger – not smiling tonight |
NASCAR suspended Sprint Cup Series driver A.J. Allmendinger indefinitely Tuesday after a test of his backup urine sample confirmed the original positive result. The violation of NASCAR's substance abuse policy puts Allmendinger's future in NASCAR and at Penske Racing in doubt.
Allmendinger originally was suspended July 7 after failing a random drug test taken in late June. His backup ''B'' urine sample was tested Tuesday by Aegis Analytical Laboratories in Nashville, Tenn.
NASCAR officials announced the result and subsequent suspension Tuesday night.
