Speedway Motorsports Today Reports Higher Q2 Revenue, Profit

Speedway Motorsports Inc. today reported that it had "rebounded from a second-quarter loss last year to post" a $27M Q2 profit. Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 was $181M, up from $153M in the year-ago period when the company incurred a $48.6M one-time goodwill impairment charge. SMI saw increases "in every revenue category during the quarter." Admissions revenue increased to $39M, up from $31M, while event-related revenue rose to $55.6M, up from $51.9M. NASCAR broadcasting revenue rose to $78M, up from $62.4M.
