Rush to hit cinemas in September 2013

Rush, the firm re-enacting the 1976 world title fight between James Hunt and Niki Lauda, will hit the big screens in September next year. Directed by Ron Howard and produced by Universal, the work will portray incidents including the Austrian’s near-death experience as well as Hunt claiming the crown.

Hunt is played by Australian Chris Hemsworth of Thor and The Avengers. Lauda will be represented by Daniel Bruhl, who starred with Brad Pitt in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds. The film was shot in locations across England, Germany and Austria.

1976 is remembered by many as one of the most tantalizing Formula 1 seasons, with Hunt claiming the title for McLaren when Lauda decided to pull out of the Japanese Grand Prix at a saturated Fuji.
