Gibbs suing sponsor for non-payment
Joe Gibbs Racing was supposed to have Trans-Lux on the Sprint Cup car of #11-Denny Hamlin later this year but the company allegedly hasn't paid for its sponsorship of JGR, according to a lawsuit filed earlier this month. Trans-Lux, which manufactures video display boards, including scoreboards for everything from high school fields to arenas, sponsored Joey Logano in his Nationwide Series win at California earlier this season. According to a news release at the time, the sponsorship would move to Hamlin's Cup car for one race this fall 2012 and also included access to NFL Hall of Fame coach and team owner Joe Gibbs. The two-page lawsuit, filed by JGR on Aug. 3 in North Carolina Superior Court in Charlotte, does not list the amount of the sponsorship deal, which was signed in 2011. It alleges that Trans-Lux "breached the contract by failing to make various payments, when due." Sporting News
