Second season victory for Bruno Spengler

Bruno Spengler (BMW) is the winner of the DTM race at the Nürburgring. After 49 laps at the 3.629 kilometres long Eifel circuit, he crossed the finish line with his BMW M3 DTM to claim his second win of the season. Edoardo Mortara (Audi) finished second, 6.7 seconds behind the French-Canadian. With Martin Tomczyk, another BMW driver rounded out the podium. Canadian Robert Wickens (Mercedes-Benz) finished in 7th while American Joey Hand (BMW) had a bad start of the race from 14th on the grid and couldn't make up for his loss in the first lap, eventually finishing 18th.

Gary Paffett (Mercedes-Benz) retained his lead in the DTM drivers’ standings with fifth place behind Jamie Green (Mercedes-Benz) and Mike Rockenfeller (Audi). He remains in first place with 103 points, followed by Spengler (83 points) and Green (81 points).
