NASCAR Reinstates Aaron Fike
More than five years after his suspension from NASCAR after he was arrested at the Kings Island amusement park in Ohio, and charged with suspicion of heroin possession, Aaron Fike was reinstated by the sanctioning body on Tuesday.
NASCAR’s announcement of Fike’s reinstatement said simply: “NASCAR has reinstated driver Aaron Fike upon his successful completion of NASCAR’s Substance Abuse Policy Road to Recovery Program."
Fike was arrested on July 11, 2007 and suspended later the same day. Fike later acknowledged he used heroin while competing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. He was suspended on July 11, 2007.
