IndyCar in-fighting is hurting series

With the season less than a month away from its finale, Brian Barnhart told speed.com he would like to see the divided, distracted image the series has presented of late turn towards something more unified and positive.

“That's one of the disappointing things in my mind; I wish we could deal with our dirty laundry or whatever you refer to it as, away from the public and focus on having three races to go in our championship," he remarked. "Our focus should be on our competition and our drivers and stars and our teams instead of people talking about how much a spare wishbone costs. And if we can get the focus back to where we need it to be, that's how are going to grow the sport.

“Behind the scenes we should be working to do what we can to stabilize the economics of it, if you will, to try and do all we can to control the cost of participation in a way that we can. We need to keep the fans watching and following our on-track product, our competition and our superstar drivers."
