Salazar named as driver steward for Belgium

Eliseo Salazar has been revealed as the FIA's driver steward for this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix, aiding the decision making process for on-track incidents.

Hailing from Santiago, Chile, Salazar's Formula 1 career spanned from 1981-83, during which time he drove for March, Ensign, ATS and RAM. His best result was a fifth place finish at the 1982 San Marino Grand Prix, a race won by Didier Pironi.

Salazar has also contested IRL and WRC events, plus taken part in the Dakar Rally and 24 Hours of Le Mans. In 2000, Salazar picked up a podium finish in the Indy 500.
