Qualification Round 2 results

Advancing to the Fast 6 were Power, Dixon, Bourdais, Hinchcliffe, Conway and Franchitti. Missing the Fast 6 were Kimball, Kanaan, Wilson, Junqueira, Carpenter and Pagenaud.

In something of a surprise (okay, I’m sure even Ed was surprised) Ed Carpenter participated in this round of qualifying. Early on he hit the railroad chicane hard, and not only got airborne, but the nose of his car was probably at a 30 degree angle. No doubt this will be one of the week’s highlight videos. Finding the wall at that chicane was Justin Wilson, who like likewise got airborne in this session, but wasn’t lucky enough to avoid the wall. Prior to that, Wilson looked like a lock to get into the Fast 6.

Due to damage sustained in Round 1, Simon Pagenaud didn’t participate in Round 2.
