Robin Frijns seals title in clash with Bianchi

The only thing rookie Robin Frijns needed to do was to stay ahead of Ferrari protégé Jules Bianchi during this last race of the 2012 WSR 3.5 campaign at Barcelona today. With 4 laps to go Bianchi tries a 'do or die' move on Frijns at the end of the main straight and succeeds, but Frijns responds immediately and within 2 corners does his own 'do or die' move on Bianchi, also succeeding, but by doing so, he sends Bianchi into the gravel and out of the race.

As there was NO visible damage or tire marks on Frijns' car, the race-stewards decided not to penalize Frijns, which wouldn't have mattered, as his main title contender was out of the race anyway !

Sam Bird was also too far behind to collect enough points, so Robin Frijns cruised to a well deserved Championship.
