Negri Ups Ante, Paces 4th-Straight Rolex Session At Kansas
Ozz Negri came away with the fast lap for the fourth consecutive Rolex Series session, at GRAND-AM’s open test at Kansas Speedway on Sunday. Negri, who also led all three Saturday sessions, posted a 123.172 mph (1 minute, 9.269 seconds) lap on the 2.37-mile road course on the first of three Sunday sessions, in the No. 60 Ford/Riley DP of Michael Shank Racing. That also now stands as the fastest lap overall of the two-day test. Among GT testers, Christopher Haase also led a fourth-straight session in the No. 52 Audi R8 fielded by Audi of America. Haase’s effort: 114.023 mph (1:14.827) – also the best GT lap overall thus far.
Ozz Posts Fastest Kansas Laps
Ozz Negri led a third consecutive Rolex Series practice session Saturday afternoon – and ended with the day’s overall fast lap. Negri, in Michael Shank Racing’s No. 60 Ford/Riley Daytona Prototype, led the third session with a lap of 1 minute, 9.321 seconds/123.080 mph. On the GT class side, Christopher Haase likewise led all three sessions and posted his best effort in the last session, 113.295 mph/1:15.308 in the No. 52 Audi R8, fielded by Audi of America.
Negri Continues To Set The Pace In DP
Ozz Negri continued to set the pace in the second of three Rolex Series sessions during Saturday's open test at Kansas Speedway. Negri again had the fastest lap in the No. 60 Michael Shank Racing Ford/Riley, pacing the new 2.37-mile road course in 1 minute, 10.013 seconds/121.863 mph. Negri improved upon his quick time in the morning session and was an impressive 0.623 seconds faster than Joao Barbosa in the No. 9 Action Express Corvette DP. Christopher Haase was fastest in GT in the No. 52 Audi of America Audi R8 with a lap of 1 minute, 15.462 seconds/113.064 mph.
Ozz Negri Tops Charts In Opening Rolex Series Session
In the first of three Rolex Series sessions Saturday in the GRAND-AM open test at Kansas Speedway, Ozz Negri had the fast lap, in the No. 60 Ford/Riley of Michael Shank Racing – 1 minute, 10.383 seconds/121.222 mph on the new 2.37-mile road course. Two more Rolex Series sessions are coming up later today. GRAND-AM will race for the first time at Kansas Speedway next season on Aug. 17 with both Rolex Series and Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge events.
