Bernard breaks silence

Former IZOD IndyCar Series CEO Randy Bernard broke his silence via social media on Saturday, expressing his support for the series he led from 2010.

"Let's not forget what this sport is really about: speed, world class drivers, and the best competition in all of racing," Bernard wrote on his Twitter feed.

"I want to sincerely thank all the #indycar fans for all your messages and support, for me, and the series," he said.

"I want to thank you for your last years of tireless work. #commitment," wrote Oriol Servia.

"My twitter handle will not change because I am a fan of #INDYCAR and will continue to support this great sport," Bernard said.
