Dovizioso tops wet Valencia warm-up

Monster Yamaha Tech 3’s Andrea Dovizioso was the man on the pace in a wet warm-up for the Gran Premio Generali de la Comunitat Valenciana in front of Stefan Bradl and Valentino Rossi.

The MotoGP grid was met with rain in the morning session, which will have pleased the riders, as the race this afternoon is also predicted to be wet. And it was Dovizioso who led the field with a 1.44’197 ahead of LCR Honda MotoGP’s Stefan Bradl, who has looked in good form at the track all weekend. Ducati Team’s Rossi will have been lifted by his performance in the wet, after his dry pace looked to be suffering.

His teammate Nicky Hayden, who had topped Friday’s wet session, ended the warm-up in fourth, ahead of San Carlo Honda Gresini’s Alvaro Bautista. Yamaha Factory Racing’s Jorge Lorenzo came in seventh, while Repsol Honda Team’s pole-sitter Dani Pedrosa finished in tenth.
