Randy Bernard says goodbye
You are probably aware by now that I am leaving IndyCar after leading the organization over the last three years. I wanted to take a moment to reach out to you and thank you for the opportunity to work with and get to know you throughout this journey.
We were able to accomplish many good things in this short period of time and I am pleased with where IndyCar is heading as it prepares for the 2013 racing season.
When I arrived here in March 2010 I was overwhelmed by how quickly the racing community accepted me and offered advice and support to shorten my learning curve.
Almost immediately, we developed a process to build and implement new cars, cars that this year debuted and created one of the most exciting seasons of racing in IndyCar history. That could not have been done without the total commitment of the entire IndyCar community and I am proud to have been part of that process.
Even though my tenure here has been relatively short, I know that I take with me new relationships and memories that will last a lifetime. I also feel certain that I will have an occasion to work with many of you again on projects in a different capacity.
I look forward to continued interaction in the months and years ahead.
Thanks again for the opportunity to work with you and for your support of me and IndyCar.
Sincerely,
Randy
