Mayfield evicted

Authorities in North Carolina have seized an unfinished home and land belonging to former NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield.

Catawba County Sheriff's Sgt. Kerry Hayer told the Hickory Daily Record ( http://bit.ly/VgHjIC) that deputies changed the locks on the door of the home in Catawba on Wednesday. Carolina Farm Credit received an order earlier this month transferring the land and buildings to the company. Court records show the bank bought the land for $1,725,000. Mayfield had a court date scheduled in Catawba County for Dec. 3 on charges of one count of felony possession of methamphetamine, one count of felony obtaining property by false pretense and three counts of felony possession of stolen goods or property.
