Andretti team signs multi-year agreement with DHL
DHL, the global market leader in the logistics industry, will now be speeding into the 2013 racing season as full primary sponsor on the Chevrolet piloted by recently-crowned IZOD IndyCar Series champion Ryan Hunter-Reay. The Indianapolis based Indy car race team Andretti Autosport and DHL recently announced the new agreement which takes the successful partnership into its third consecutive season.
"We couldn't be more pleased to welcome DHL back to Andretti Autosport, and this time as a primary sponsor and defending champion," said John Lopes, Chief Marketing Officer, Andretti Autosport. "As a global industry leader, DHL is a brand that we are proud to have in our organization. We look forward to many more wins together."
Hunter-Reay, who will be starting his fourth season with Andretti Autosport, won the IndyCar Championship and its million- dollar prize by scoring a league-leading four race victories this year. He has been the highest placed American Driver in the IndyCar Championship since joining Andretti Autosport three years ago, and is the most successful American Driver currently competing in the series with three times more race wins than all of the other current American drivers combined. A past recipient of both the IZOD IndyCar Series Rookie of the year and Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the year awards Hunter-Reay is the only driver to have won races in IndyCar, ChampCar, CART, GrandAM and the ALMS Series.
"We are pleased to expand our partnership with the Andretti Autosport team and driver Ryan Hunter-Reay," said Christine Nashick, Vice President of Marketing for DHL Express. "Andretti, like DHL, is recognized worldwide as a high performance brand, known for its speed, reliability and the dedication of its team. We look forward to a continuing successful partnership together and an exciting racing season ahead."
Elements of sponsorship continue in 2013 with DHL image and advertising rights as well as VIP hospitality platforms for DHL customers at races in major U.S., Canadian, Asian and Latin American markets.
