NASCAR reinstates suspended crewman

NASCAR has reinstated Nationwide Series crew member Ryan Hess after completion of a prescribed recovery program following his suspension for violation of NASCAR’s substance abuse policy, the sanctioning body announced Wednesday.

Hess was working with MacDonald Motorsports and driver Jason Bowles as a mechanic and gas man when he was suspended.

Following the violation of the substance abuse policy, which typically is the failure of a random drug test, NASCAR requires the competitor to meet with a substance abuse professional, who then prescribes a recovery program that must be completed before the they are reinstated.
