Richard Childress and Jeff Burton Unveil the 2013 No. 31 Caterpillar Chevrolet

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Jeff Burton and team owner Richard Childress unveiled the 2013 No. 31 Caterpillar Chevrolet SS on Wednesday, December 5 at the new Caterpillar Visitors Center located behind CAT's world headquarters in downtown Peoria, Ill.

Before signing autographs for over 300 fans in attendance and taking a tour of the world-class facility, Childress and Burton unveiled the newly-remodeled Chevrolet SS race car featuring the well-known Caterpillar colors that Burton will pilot during the 2013 Sprint Cup Series season beginning at Daytona International Speedway in February. Throughout the afternoon, the 80' hauler that transports the No. 31 Caterpillar Chevrolet across the country was on display for guests to walk through and each fan that attended received a free 2013 Sprint Cup Series schedule poster.

"The traditional black and yellow Caterpillar colors really look sharp on this new 2013 Chevrolet SS race car," said Jeff Burton. "Not only will this new Chevrolet standout on the race track, NASCAR officials used a lot of feedback from different outlets to design a car that will put on a great show for the fans week in and week out."

2013 marks Caterpillar's fifth season as primary sponsor on Burton's No. 31 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet and 20th year as sponsor in the motorsports industry. The South Boston, Va., native has amassed 21 wins, 132 top-five finishes, 248 top-10 finishes, six pole awards and led 6,513 laps during his 20-year career. Burton finished 19th in the 2012 Sprint Cup Series driver championship point standings with two top-five and six top-10 finishes.
