Ecclestone: “I’m not guilty”
Interviewed by Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, the F1 supremo assured everyone that he isn’t worried about his possible court case in Germany, relating to jailed banker Gerhard Gribkowsky: "I would be (worried) if I was guilty!" Bernie said. “But I’m not! Are they trying to entrap me? I don’t know and I don’t care! All I know is that people try anything when money is involved!"
Ecclestone isn’t in the slightest bit worried about the possibility of being taken to court, accused of paying a €45M bribe following the sale of F1 to private equity company CVC in 2006.
“It won’t get to me appearing in court" he said, adding that he is certain he will remain at the helm of F1 for a long time to come – so much so that he intends to continue to make F1 “think and act like the world’s leading sport".
Then he added: “I'll continue to help with my ideas – I still have plenty left!" La Gazzetta dello Sport
