Bennett and Braun for Rolex 24

Two-time American Le Mans Series PC class championship runner-up Jon Bennett is set to make his Rolex 24 debut at Daytona this year with regular ALMS co-driver, Colin Braun.

The CORE autosport duo will join forces with Doran Racing's Dr. Jim Lowe and former Champ Car champion Paul Tracy in the newly upgraded No.77 Riley-bodied Dallara-Ford DP.

Bennett and Braun will also contest another round of the North American Endurance Championship with Lowe, the Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen. Additionally, the duo will team up for the second round of the GRAND-AM Rolex Series in the Doran Racing entry at Austin's Circuit of the Americas.

With the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patron and the GRAND-AM Rolex Series merging in 2014, the CORE autosport duo are set to gain valuable race miles at two venues which will form part of the new combined championship next year.

Bennett and Braun's primary program for 2013 will be a title assault on the 2013 ALMS championship where CORE autosport is targeting its third's consecutive championship.

While Bennett has contested club racing events at the famous Daytona track, this will be his first Rolex 24 attempt and his first 24 hour race. Braun will make his seventh start in the endurance classic.

The pair will get their first laps with Doran Racing this weekend at the Roar Before the 24 test at Daytona from January 4-6. The 51st running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona will be held on January 26-27.

The 16th and final ALMS season commences at the 61st running of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida on Saturday, March 16, at Sebring International Raceway.
