Rzadzinski Reunites with JDC MotorSports for USF2000 Championship Campaign

JDC MotorSports is excited to announce that Edmonton, Alb., junior formula car standout Stefan Rzadzinski will be part of its multi-car title

challenge in the 2013 edition of the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda.

The 19 year-old Rzadzinski will make the move to USF2000 Championship competition this coming season, reuniting with JDC MotorSports after his Mazda Road to Indy debut last season via a part-time Star Mazda Championship effort with the multiple championship-winning squad. The talented Canadian, who enters the 2013 campaign with wins in Skip Barber Racing and the Ontario Formula Ford Championship on his resume, will be part of a highly-regarded line-up under the JDC awning, and focused on adding to his victory tally and challenging for both the Rookie of the Year and overall title honors. Prior to the start of the USF2000 Championship in mid-March, Rzadzinski will also take part in the series operated six-race Winterfest championship in Florida.

"Obviously it's great to have Stefan back with us in 2013, and the entire team is excited that he is staying with us for our Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda series program," stated JDC MotorSports team principal John Church. "The speed and potential that Stefan showed us this past season in Star Mazda makes him a strong candidate to be a front-runner in the USF2000 series. We feel that Stefan has the potential to win the championship".

"First of all, I am very happy to have the opportunity to stay with the team in 2013," stated Rzadzinski, who will race with support from CanTorque, Christenson Development, Goldmark Diesel, Calroc, and other Alberta-based companies who supported him in 2012. "The most important part of my decision for this season was being able to run a full-season program.

"We were focused on putting together a full-season program with JDC for Star Mazda (now the Pro Mazda Championship) for 2013, but with the cancelation of the Edmonton Indy, raising extra funds to put together a full ride became a challenge, and a decision needed to be made. We met with our partners a few weeks ago and discussed options on what would be best for my career in the long run. I did not want to run another partial schedule again, and everyone agreed that running a full-season, including the Winterfest, was the best choice.

"Being able to step up and make this decision was only possible because of my great supporters. I have to especially thank CanTorque, Christenson Developments, and Goldmark Diesel who have taken the lead on my program. I'm looking forward to racing in the 2013 US F2000 Championship and fighting for top honors!"

As part of a multi-car effort by JDC Motorsports, Rzadzinski will team up with the previously confirmed paralyzed racer Michael Johnson, whom he raced against in 2011 Skip Barber Racing competition.

JDC MotorSports' quest for on-track glory in the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda gets underway on March 14-15, with two rounds at Sebring International Raceway in Florida as part of the prestigious Twelve Hours of Sebring event. Prior to the season-opening doubleheader, Rzadzinski and the squad will take part in the Cooper Tires Winterfest series, with three races at Sebring on February 5-6, and three races at Palm Beach International Raceway on February 9-10.
