Red Bull to launch new RB9 car at factory on February 3rd
Can Adrian Newey design another winner? |
Red Bull will launch the car, the RB9, that they will attempt to win a fourth straight championship double within 2013 at their Milton Keynes factory on February 3.
The triple World Champions have followed McLaren, Force India, Sauber and Ferrari in confirming their new challenger will be unveiled in the days prior to the opening test of pre-season, despite speculation that they were behind in the build of the RB9.
The date has been set for Sunday 3 February, two days before action gets underway at Jerez, with the venue set for their factory in Milton Keynes.
Although it wasn't explicit in the brief announcement, which arrived via Twitter, the launch date would appear to confirm that Red Bull will be in action as scheduled at Jerez.
The team's design guru Adrian Newey had recently revealed that their season-long development push in 2012 had left them playing catch up to get the new car ready in time, prompting speculation that they could be forced to delay the introduction of the RB9 until the first of the Barcelona tests later in February.
Three-times World Champion Sebastian Vettel is again joined by Mark Webber in the team's 2013 line-up with the outfit looking to emulate Ferrari and McLaren in winning four straight constructors' crowns.
