Stoner to give 4-wheels a try

UPDATE On Sunday, Stoner played down reports that he had already made up his mind about his future, although he did admit V8 Supercars was one of the possibilities.

"Don't believe everything you read," said Stoner via Twitter.

"Haven't decided what I'm doing yet, of course V8 Supercars is on the cards. Will let you know when I do!"

01/20/13 Two-time MotoGP champion Casey Stoner says he will make the move to four wheels, racing in the Australian-based Dunlop Series this year.

The Australian, who retired at the conclusion of the 2012 season, will wheel a car adorned with his familiar No. 27 in the seven-round series, which opens in Adelaide in late February.

“Since I was 12, I’ve always been interested in it," Stoner said. “It was always my plan during my whole career to drive a V-8."

Stoner will drive a Holden Commodore VE fielded by Triple Eight Race Engineering.
