Busch could stay at Furniture Row after 2013

Kurt Busch says Furniture Row is a "strong option'' for him in 2014. Busch signed with the Denver-based Sprint Cup team late last season, finishing the year with three consecutive top 10s to build momentum for this season. There has been much speculation that the 2004 Cup champion was using the single-car team as a stepping stone to a top-tier organization after this year. Much of that speculation has involved Busch going to Richard Childress Racing, which supplies engines and chassis to Furniture Row.
But Busch told ESPN.com during Day 2 of the Sprint Media Tour that he is happy at Furniture Row, which he already considers a fourth car at RCR. "It's a strong option,'' he said of signing an extension. Furniture Row general manager Joe Garone said preliminary discussions already are taking place with Busch. Asked if he thought it was possible a deal could be reached, he said, "Yeah, I do.'' Busch said serious negotiations for next season likely wouldn't start until sometime after April. ESPN
