12 Luxury Cars Stolen In Smash-And-Grab At Hayward, CA Dealership

Thieves made off with a dozen high-end vehicles after a break in at a Hayward car dealership early Monday morning.

Alameda County Sherriff’s deputies were searching for suspects who smashed through the entrance of Auto World Motors on Mission Boulevard sometime between 1 and 4 a.m. and stole BMW’s, Jaguars and Mercedes.

“I’m more shocked than hurt as to why this happened," said owner Sam Kharie.

Kharie said three of his four surveillance cameras were working and caught the suspects in the act.

“Employees arrived about 9:30 a.m. and found half the inventory gone," employee David Zazai told the Oakland Tribune. “I hope we find out who did it. Hopefully it gets resolved."

He said the car lot is a family business that opened about three years ago. Zazai said the business is open. but with so much of the inventory gone sales are down.

Although the business already has surveillance, an alarm system and has a gate around the car lot, he said the owners are considering beefing up security measures.

Zazi said the value of the stolen vehicles totaled about $200,000. He said at least four people appeared to be involved in the crime, based on video surveillance.
