The seven-hour mark in the Rolex 24 at Daytona saw a fierce battle for the overall lead in the race’s 51st running. Juan Pablo Montoya regained the race lead in his No. 01 TELMEX/Target Chip Ganassi Racing BMW/Riley by getting around Starworks’ Ryan Dalziel in a run past the start-finish line with 17 hours left.

The top nine GT cars were within 51 seconds after seven hours. Filipe Albuquerque led for Alex Job Racing in the No. 24 Audi R8 GRAND AM by 4.054 seconds over Rene Rast in the No. 52 APR Motorsport Audi. Andy Lally was third for Magnus Racing in the No. 44 Porsche GT.
Shane Lewis moved Napleton Racing’s No. 16 Porsche Cayman back to the front of the GX field. He was three laps ahead of John Tecce in BGB Motorsports’ No. 38 Porsche Cayman.
