American Ethanol to Sponsor July NASCAR Truck Race at Iowa Speedway

Growth Energy’s American Ethanol brand will again be the title sponsor for Iowa Speedway’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race, the American Ethanol 200, on Saturday evening, July 13. The event on the Newton facility’s 7/8-mile, Rusty Wallace designed tri-oval will feature up to 34 trucks in a 200-lap, high-speed duel.

Tom Buis, CEO of Growth Energy, and Iowa Speedway President Stan Clement made the joint announcement on behalf of both companies.

“We are excited to once again partner with Iowa Speedway for the American Ethanol 200, an exciting race for the sport and a great venue for the American Ethanol brand," Buis said. “Ethanol already supports communities across Iowa, and with the power of NASCAR we are able to showcase the fuel across all America. With more than three million miles raced on Sunoco Green E15, ethanol has proven to be a high-performance, cleaner fuel that creates jobs in Iowa and across the Midwest, while promoting a better environment for all Americans."

“American Ethanol has become one of our most important promotional partners," said Clement. “Everyone at Iowa Speedway works very hard to highlight corn ethanol as an efficient, high-performance fuel, and we are very proud that all of the racecars in every one of our major events are powered by ethanol blended fuels. The ‘American Ethanol 200’ will be our first NASCAR Truck race of the summer, and we are grateful for Growth Energy’s support."

Tickets for the ‘American Ethanol 200’ are currently on sale through the Iowa Speedway Ticket Office in Newton, online at www.iowaspeedway.com, or through the track’s toll-free ticketing hotline, 866-RUSTY-GO (787-8946). Season Tickets and weekend passes are also available for Iowa Speedway’s 2013 racing season, which begins on June 7 – 8 with the first of two NASCAR Nationwide Series event weekends. Other major events include the Iowa Corn Indy 250 weekend on June 22-23, the second NASCAR Nationwide Series weekend on August 2-3, and the second NASCAR Camping World Truck Series weekend on September 7-8.
