Daly to Test GP2 with Hilmer Motorsport

American Conor Daly is in Barcelona, Spain to have his first test in a GP2 car over the next two days, March 5th & 6th. It was a surprise call to Daly from German Team, Hilmer Motorsport who are still looking to fill both of their seats for the upcoming season. "This was totally unexpected," said Daly. "I was in England and within a day the deal was talked about by The KINC agency and I was on a plane. I'm very much looking forward to the experience. I know the engineers and the team have assembled some very experienced people. The weather forecast is not great but I will still learn a lot."

Daly's GP3 deal for the season has not come together as expected yet and therefore he is presently looking at all options for the upcoming season.

Hilmer Motorsport is a new team to the GP2 Series having recently purchased the assets of Ocean Technology. The team is owned and operated by Franz Hilmer who also owns Formtech GmbH – a supplier for several Formula One teams. In the recent series test in Jerez, they topped the time sheets on both days.
