Schaeffer’s to sponsor Jarett Andretti

Adding to an already impressive list of partners, Jarett Andretti and the Andretti Autosport Short Track team announced today the addition of the Schaeffer Oil and Schaeffer's Specialized Lubricants as their newest partner for the 2013 race season. Schaeffer's will also partner with Andretti Autosport Short Track to help provide all their lubricants moving forward.

Schaeffer's will be visible on and help power the sprint car Andretti plans to compete in this year throughout Indiana. The team also has plans for Andretti to race a supermodified and other short track machines as the young Andretti continues to quickly move up the motorsports ranks. Aligning with Andretti Autosport Short Track and Jarett Andretti is in line with the Schaeffer advantage.

"Like the Andretti racing family, we have a strong heritage that allows us to be leaders in our industry now and into the future," said Jay Schaeffer Shields, President of Schaeffer Oil. "We believe that Jarett (Andretti) will follow in his family's winning history and also help carry the Schaeffer name with him as well. He is proven to be a very determined and impressive young driver. We want our quality oils and lubricants help him reach all his goals."

Jarett, grandson of Aldo and son of John Andretti, and the Andretti Autosport Short Track organization recently announced Superior Auto as a team sponsor. In addition the team will be joined by Window World, Boomerang Bay and Stoops Freightliner as Andretti will race regularly throughout the year at tracks including Gas City I-69 Speedway, Bloomington Speedway, Lincoln Park Speedway, Lawrenceburg Speedway and Kokomo Speedway. The strong support has Jarett prepared for a successful campaign.

"This is just another step in the right direction," said Jarett. "We are aligning ourselves with great partners and Schaffer's is just another example of that. We were directed toward Schaeffer Oil by a few engine manufacturers and after visiting with their representatives at the International Motorsports Industry Show in Indianapolis. It quickly became clear that their oil, degreasers, and other lubricants fit our program perfectly. Also their sales team is very accommodating and true racers. I look forward to working with them this season."

The young Andretti is already a very good driver with championships and other accolades on his fast-growing resume. He has already picked up championships in go-karts and the USAC Eastern Ignite Pavement Midget Series. Andretti has also made his midget debut in Indianapolis and won his qualifying race in his first start before the feature was rained out. Last season he competed in supermodifieds and sprint cars capturing the Oswego (N.Y.) Speedway Rookie-of-The-Year honors in the supermodified class.

Andretti is currently a sophomore year at North Carolina State University in the honors program.
