Spavone and Ghirelli join Super Nova for the 2013 Auto GP
In what will be his sophomore season, the first driver that Super Nova has put its faith in is the 18 year old Neapolitan, Antonio Spavone. The young Italian driver impressed the team with his development throughout last season and he showed his ability and potential to fight at the front during testing in December, convincing the team to push to find an agreement with him for 2013.
One driver to shine during the official Auto GP test in Barcelona was another Italian driver, Vittorio Ghirelli, who is also only 18 and resides in Rome. Following a development year in FR3.5, Vittorio was consistently the fastest of all the drivers during testing and will join Super Nova to continue to showcase his talent in this year's Auto GP World Series.
Antonio Spavone:“I'm really, really proud and happy to be chosen by Super Nova this season. I'm very young and this is my opportunity to show what and who I am, because not always do you get the opportunity to be with the team that the year before won the championship and with the pedigree of a team like Super Nova. I hope to use all my chances always and to lose nothing. My goals, which coincide with team goals, are to aim to be on the top at all times and to be in the top three of the drivers’ standings at the end of the season".
Vittorio Ghirelli:“It’s a pleasure for me to be part of Super Nova team for this Auto GP season, I am sure it’s the right place to be in if you want to top the race meetings. The experience and the knowhow they offer is very high and the atmosphere there is in the team is a winning atmosphere. Therefore I’m looking forward to the first race meeting in Monza a lot. My goals are to stay concentrated and work well with the team throughout all the season, by doing this results will come surely, and obviously to win!".
