Brawn: Mercedes must work harder

Ross Brawn

Mercedes team boss Ross Brawn says the outfit must not become complacent after a promising start to the 2013 season, insisting that constant upgrades need to be applied to the F1 W04 chassis to further close the gap to the front of the order.

Following Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg's respective third and fourth place finishes in Malaysia, Brawn is hopeful that the tireless efforts of staff at the team's Brackley factory will pay dividends as the Formula 1 fraternity arrives at the Shanghai circuit.

"Our season has started well, perhaps better than we expected, however we're fully aware that there is still a gap to close and that we must keep up the pace of development," Brawn explained.

"A lot of hard work has taken place at our factories over the last two weeks to do just that and I look forward to seeing how that translates to track performance."
