Spectacular new TV ad for Austin 400

Thanks to a new TV ad launched today, US fans will get the chance to see what lies in store at Circuit of The Americas in May when the Australian V8 Supercar championship comes to town.

The action-packed 60 second spot was revealed today by Circuit of The Americas and features some of the spectacular action from this year's opening two rounds of the championship plus key highlights from recent years.

The most recent round of the championship, at Symmons Plains Raceway in Tasmania, did not disappoint. Stars of the TV ad include Ford driver David Reynolds who was pushed wide and rode the fence coming out of the track's notoriously tight hairpin.

V8 Supercar rookie and last year's Development Series runner-up Scott Pye is also an unfortunate inclusion. Brake failure for the Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport Holden driver sent him head first into the barrier.

The damage to Pye's car means he will miss this weekend's third round of the championship and the first international race of the year, the ITM 400 at Pukekohe Park Raceway in Auckland, New Zealand.
