2013 Asian Le Mans Series Update Sporting Regulations
As part of the new regulations the GT category now consists of GTC and GTC AM. The GTC AM category has been created to attract gentlemen drivers’ teams to enter and compete in world class endurance-racing. The LM GTE class has been removed from Asian Le Mans Series for this season. The changes now allow for the first and the second place GTC teams for the series to be awarded entry into the 2014 Le Mans 24 Hours, in the GTE AM category. In addition an invitation for the 2014 Le Mans 24 Hours will be awarded to the winner of the LM P2 category. The team that wins in LM PC will be invited to take part in the test day for the 2014 Le Mans 24 Hours.
The organizers along with the ACO believe that the updated sporting regulations are a very positive step forward in opening up Asian Le Mans Series for all teams, to create the preeminent endurance race series in Asia. In addition they are excited by the new, as well as continued, interest in the 2013 Asian Le Mans Series from teams, drivers and sponsors around the world, and look forward to more teams joining in the following months.
