Can you believe it? Power winless in over a year

Winless for a year? Not even Will Power can believe it.

Once considered all but unbeatable in the IndyCar Series, Power’s drought has reached a full calendar year.

The anniversary of his last win — in the street race in Sao Paulo, Brazil — was Monday.

Since then, IndyCar has had 14 races won by nine other drivers: Dario Franchitti, Scott Dixon, Justin Wilson, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Helio Castroneves, Ryan Briscoe, Ed Carpenter, James Hinchcliffe and Takuma Sato. Hunter-Reay has won five times, Dixon twice.

Power’s average finish is 11.7, hardly Power-like.

"I know," Power said, repeating the words twice more Monday before moving on with his thoughts. "You can’t believe we didn’t win one of those races at the end of last year." More at Indy Star
