Alexander Rossi to drive Caterham in Montreal

Caterham reserve Alexander Rossi has confirmed that he will take part in the opening free practice session for the Canadian Grand Prix in June, marking the American's second Formula 1 weekend appearance and his first of the 2013 campaign.

Rossi had been due to complete his first run in the CT03 in Bahrain, but a late call up to Caterham's GP2 team and the return of Heikki Kovalainen delayed the outing. The 21-year-old is hoping for "at least one more" FP1 chance as the season progresses.

"Obviously the weekends that I'm not doing GP2 I'll be looking to be drive the F1 car in Friday practice sessions and that will start in Montreal," Rossi explained to ESPN. "Beyond that I'll be doing at least one more, and possibly others, but it's hard to say exactly what will happen because in F1 you never know for certain until you're in the car. Whatever happens, the more time you can spend in an F1 car the better."

Rossi notched up a podium finish on his debut GP2 weekend at Sakhir, putting him seventh in the Drivers' standings despite missing the opening round in Malaysia.
