Kanaan gets Geico backing for Indy

KV Racing Technology announced today that GEICO will be an associate sponsor on the No. 11 HYDROXYCUT – KV Racing – SH Racing car for the 2013 Indianapolis 500. This will be the sixth consecutive year that GEICO has sponsored a KV Racing Technology car at the Indy 500.

"KVRT and GEICO have worked closely together over the past six years and we're excited to have them back again this year. This gives us the opportunity to maintain a relationship that is extremely important to us as a team," said KVRT Co-Owner Jimmy Vasser.

The No. 11 car is driven by Brazilian veteran Tony Kanaan who will be making his 201st consecutive start and his 12th Indy 500 start. Kanaan's best finish at the Indy 500 was second place in 2004. He brought the GEICO car home to a third place finish in last year's race and a fourth place finish in the 2011 Indy 500.

Practice at the Indianapolis 500 starts today for the No. 11 HYDROXYCUT – KV Racing – SH Racing entry and will continue through Friday before qualification begins on Pole Day, Saturday, May 18th.

Pole day qualifying for the Indianapolis 500 will air on NBC Sports Network Saturday, May 18th from 11:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. ET and again from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. ET, with Bump Day coverage also airing on NBC Sports Network May 19th beginning at 12:00 p.m. ET.
