Did IndyCar borrow an ECU from NASCAR?

A reader writes, Dear AR1.com, Doesn't it seem odd that outside of practice 1, carpenter was literally nowhere the whole week. But today he suddenly found "something" that turned his car into a rocketship on pole day? And isn't the new competition chief Derek walker, who assumes his new job the day after Indy, still the team manager at ECR? Come on, I'm all for this feel good story but this seems total NASCAR.
