Bryan Herta Autosport with Curb-Agajanian (BHA) in association with Jeffrey Mark Motorsports (JMM) are proud to announce a partnership with Starting Grid, Inc. that will see the team field American driver Chase Austin in the Freedom 100 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on "Carb Day," Friday, May 24.
The 23-year-old, Eudora, Kansas native will be making his third consecutive start, where he has finished in the Top-10 the previous two years at the legendary speedway. Chase will pilot the No. 28 Dallara/Firestone, sponsored by Starting Grid, Inc., which has been the facilitator of a motorsports diversity initiative in partnership with American Honda.
"I'm really excited to enter the Freedom 100 with BHA, Curb Agajanian, and JMM," said Austin. "Thanks to Honda and Starting Grid, Inc., I get another chance to prove myself in the Firestone Indy Lights Series. After the test at the beginning of May, I feel like we have a chance to see a lot of success with the partnership. I can't wait to get on track this week, and hopefully bring home a podium for the team!"
Starting Grid, Inc. team principal Chris Miles echoes Chase's sentiments.
"I am more than pleased having the opportunity to run Chase with Bryan Herta Autosport at the Freedom 100," said Miles. "Obviously, we had aspirations of competing on Sunday this year, but I would love nothing more than to see Chase achieve great success at Indianapolis."
BHA team owner Bryan Herta added, "Chase Austin made a strong impression on our team when we tested him earlier this month at IMS. I'm confident Chase can fit right in with the series leaders and bring home a strong result."
Practice for the Freedom 100 will take place on Thursday, May 23 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. ET, followed by qualifying from 1:15-2:15 p.m. Pre-race activities begin at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, May 24, with an estimated green flag for the Freedom 100 at 12:30 p.m.
