Sunoco sponsors Kanaan for four races

KV Racing Technology is proud to announce Sunoco as the primary sponsor of the 2013 Indianapolis 500 Champion Tony Kanaan's No. 11 car for this weekend's Firestone 550 at Texas Motor Speedway. Sunoco will also be the primary sponsor on Kanaan's car at three other races this season: the Iowa Corn Indy 250 at Iowa Speedway on June 23, the Pocono INDYCAR 400 at Pocono Raceway on June 30, and the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Aug. 4.

"I am very proud and happy that Sunoco will be my primary sponsor for four upcoming races- Texas, Iowa, Pocono and Mid-Ohio," Kanaan said. "Sunoco has a long heritage in Indy car racing beginning in the late 1960's and is a proven winner. I look forward to my association with them and will hopefully get them to victory circle starting in Texas. Along with Sunoco, "Turbo" will be riding along with me in those events. My son Leo will be excited to see that, and I am very proud to be associated with what is sure to be a very special movie."

Sunoco, the official fuel partner of the IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights, has a long history of success winning their first Indianapolis 500 in 1972 with Penske Racing driver Mark Donohue. Cynthia Archer, Vice President of Marketing and Development for Sunoco is thrilled to be partnering with the latest Indianapolis 500 winner. "We are thrilled with our partnership," she said. "Teaming up with DreamWorks Animation and 2013 Indianapolis 500 champ Tony Kanaan is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

"Sunoco's commitment to the sport of Indy car racing continues to be significant and impactful, and enriches open-wheel racing as its involvement spreads across venues, series and teams," said Greg Gruning, Executive Vice President of Business Development, INDYCAR. "And by leveraging its association with the upcoming DreamWorks feature film 'Turbo,' Sunoco provides the perfect activation platform to bring the excitement surrounding the film's release directly to the fans at the racetrack."

Jimmy Vasser, KV Racing Technology co-owner, is excited to have famous blue and gold Sunoco logo on board the No 11 car. "We're very excited to be representing Sunoco in four upcoming races," he said. "Sunoco has a great history with Indy car racing and KV Racing is happy to now be part of that. We're equally excited to help launch the movie "Turbo"; I'm sure my nephews will get a kick out of it. It looks like it's going to be a fun movie and I think it will help introduce our sport to a whole new generation of fans."

DreamWorks' animated movie "Turbo" will premier July 9th in New York City and open in movie theaters across the country on July 17.
